Growing up Southern California, Michael spent his time surfing and hanging out at his friends salon. He realized a true passion and gift for hair. While his career has been anything but laid back, his charming personality and unique talent has been attracting top level clients from the beginning. Michael has been on the fast track, working with such celebrities as Lady Gaga, Connie Britton, Mariah Carey, Padma Lakshmi, Molly Sims, Morena Baccarin and Lea Michele.
Moving to New York to focus his energy on editorial and fashion Michael has been able to work alongside Orlando Pita on shows for Michael Kors, Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, and Victoria’s Secret. Michael has also keyed shows for Betsey Johnson, Trina Turk, Nicole Miller, Charlotte Ronson and many others. Whether Michael is on set for cover shoots or backstage working on Beyoncé’s music videos, his demeanor never changes. He has a gifted ability to maintain creative focus while under pressure.
What projects are you currently working on?
They always change, I did just shoot the cover of Jalouse Magazine for my client Rinko Kikuchi, I am off to Comic Con to work withYvonne Strahovski and then I am shooting the Jonas Brothers for the cover of Flaunt Magazine, so a few things happening!
When did you first discover Perfect Locks hair?
My Publicist introduced me and recommended I try some of the hair, I fell in love with the quality!

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I love creating art. either very strong editorial hair, or pure perfect polished locks, its all beautiful. Plus I get to make people happy, what could be better than that!?
What is the biggest challenge when styling a celebrity?
Making sure their publicist is happy.. The client may love it, but it mightnot be up the publicists alley. Its always a fine line of pushing too much or not enough.

What has been the highlight of your career to date?
Becoming the Schwarzkopf Professional National Ambassador. Its very surreal to have a title like that!
What about your job do you love the most?
I draw my inspiration from other hair around me. When someone passes me, I can see the beauty of another style / cut in their hair. It gets me excited!
How did you become a celebrity stylist?
I think I just got lucky. I was doing photoshoots to build my portfolio, and decided to go Agency shopping. I got pickled up by a very well known agency and the rest is history.
Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I love to build furniture and lighting fixtures. I use reclaimed wood and copper for almost everything I build. It is beyond fun!
