We at Perfect Locks love to empower and celebrate women, so what better way than to make an event out of it! Over the course of a month, our marketing team worked long and hard to make this event come to life. We collaborated with numerous companies in the Walnut Creek area such as Neiman Marcus, Kara’s Cupcakes, thredUp, Love + Chocolate, Omni Fight Club, Bra-serie, Flashlight Books, Gloria’s Sweet Treats, and many more. Not only did we collaborate with these wonderful companies, but we also got to hear some inspiring stories from six brave survivors.
Beautiful Women with Amazing Stories of Survival
Our six survivors include victims and survivors of sexual assault, kidnapping, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer. Prior to the event, we documented their stores. They talked about overcoming obstacles and how confidence played a role in their recovery. Hearing their stories was so inspiring that we wanted to give them a makeover! We had a makeup artist, esthetician, and our stylists get them glammed up for a photoshoot to showcase both their inner and outer beauty. The atmosphere in the room changed. It went from somber and serious to light-hearted and joyful. Seeing these six women transform before our eyes were absolutely amazing. Perfect Locks couldn’t wait to share this documentary video at the Empowerment Event.
It's Time to Celebrate with an Event
During the event, we not only had collaborations from various companies, but we also gave out raffles! One raffle included a champagne and lunch party for four at Neiman Marcus, courteous of the Neiman Marcus team. Another was for a $50 gift card to Havana Restaurant. The last two included a raffle for a free wig or clip-in set of the winner’s choice and the other was for $500 merchandise credit to Perfect Locks. Didn’t want to enter into a raffle? No problem! We made sure to add free makeup and lash services, a free purple clip-in extension with styling, brow and lip waxing, a wig fitting, and plenty of food and drinks to go around. We launched the documentary make ‘documentary’ a click link to the youtube video) of the survivors which were followed with an open mic. One of the survivors, Tiare, gave a beautiful spoken word and gifted us with a hand-painted picture. We also had a few other attendees share stories that were heartfelt and left our guests in tears. We want to thank those who did speak during our open mic for their bravery and openness. We also, of course, had to give our attendees a parting gift! Our team packed purple goodie bags with a travel size hairbrush, some Perfect Locks chocolate, and the best part, a 25% discount! As they said goodbye, a photoshoot awaited outside.
Until This Time Next Year...
All in all, we want to thank each and every one of you who attended, collaborated, told us your story, and volunteered! Without your love and support, we wouldn’t be where we are today. With that being said, who’s ready for the next event?
