Develop a Hair Care Routine

That way, you can make sure that you schedule time to take care of your hair the way it deserves. Finding the right products for your hair can take a lot of trial and error but once you find those perfect products, your hair will thank you! Deep Condition Once in a While
One of the biggest keys to healthy hair is moisture. If hair is not properly moisturized, it will not cooperate when being styled. It’s important to deep condition the hair as that provides a treatment that allows the nutrients to penetrate the hair on a deeper level than a regular conditioner. This treatment should be done at least once a month but depending on how dry and brittle your hair is, you may need to deep condition every two weeks instead.
Feed Your Hair with Healthy Nutrients
Your hair is a part of your body, and just like your body needs nutrients to grow, so does your hair. The best way to provide your hair with those nutrients is through your diet. Be sure to eat foods that are rich in omega-3 acids, proteins, antioxidants, iron, zinc and vitamins A, B, C, D & E. All of these ingredients, as well as biotin can be found in all of those hair growth serums and pills, however, your hair receives the most nutrients from your diet.
Wrap It Up to Protect & Preserve
Raise your hand if you’re guilty of sleeping with your hair wild and free... That is definitely a habit that needs to left in 2018. Your hair can easily tangle in your sleep if you toss and turn, especially if you are sleeping on a cotton pillowcase. The cotton material can cause friction, making it more likely for your mat up, especially in the back. At night, it is best to wrap your hair up in a silk scarf or bonnet. You can also put your hair into a loose braid to prevent it from tangling. If you do not want to put your hair up, you should swap out all of your cotton pillow cases for silk pillow cases. The silk material is gentle on your hair and keeps the moisture in, whereas cotton sucks the moisture out of your hair.
Give Your Hair a Break Sometimes
Putting constant heat and stress on your hair can lead to major damage and even hair loss! It’s important to give your hair a break, whether that’s nurturing it’s natural texture, embracing your true color or letting it rest and wearing extensions or a protective style like a wig, weave or braids instead. If you aren’t sure what kind of extensions would be best for you, take our hair extensions quiz!
