How to Wash, Condition, Detangle, & Style Hair Extensions

Congratulations! You just received your first order of Perfect Locks Virgin Indian Hair Extensions and we know you’re super excited to get them installed. But wait! They probably look great right out of the box but they will look EVEN better if you give them a quick wash first. This will bring back the volume and luster they may have lost during the shipping process. Let’s go over the wash routine step by step since you will also need to follow this about every week after installation. Don’t worry, this process is quick, easy, and will keep your extensions looking their very best week after week. Let’s dive right in!

Detangle

Start the washing process by securing your extensions using the Hair Extension Detangling Caddy, this is a must-have accessory if you've ever used hair extensions.

Next, go ahead and gently brush out your hair extensions starting at the bottom. This technique prevents you from having to drag any tangles or knots through the entire length of the hair. Trust us, it will save you a lot of heartache!

Wash

Now, soak your hair extensions using warm water and pour about a quarter size amount of sulfate-free shampoo . Gently run your fingers through the hair to distribute. Resist the urge to scrub the hair as it could cause unnecessary damage and tangling.

Lastly, rinse your extensions using warm water which will open the cuticle in preparation for the next step...conditioning!

Condition

• Using a generous amount of sulfate-free conditioner, gently run your fingers through the hair. You can also use a wide-toothed comb to ensure every strand is coated evenly.
• Rinse out the conditioner using luke-warm water and pat (don’t rub!) dry using a towel.
• Complete your wash routine by allowing your extensions to air dry.
• Once your extensions have dried, simply comb them out using a wide-toothed comb, and install or style as desired!
