We scroll through social media at lightning speed. Half the time, if we see a picture we hearted a few days ago, we won’t even recognize that same picture when we see it again. But Kim Kardashian’s wet look is a sure show stopper and had us all pausing, trying to figure out ‘HOW DOES SHE DO IT??’.
With the help of her glam squad, this reality TV star and fashion mogul has stunned the world with this look at the 2016 VMAs, 2017 Daily Front Row fashion awards, her KKW launch party, and the 2019 Met Gala.
Our Perfect Locks team checked out some of the tips and tricks online but ended up with greasy, flat, or crunchy hair. So we made it a mission to achieve this sleek and sexy look, even while wearing hair extensions. Add Extra Oomph with Hair Extensions
If you are going to wear hair extensions with this look, have them already clipped in or installed before styling. The reason for this is so that there is a consistent flow with the wet curls on your real hair and the extensions. Sanchez suggests teasing your hair after each section of clip-ins are installed. “Since you’re going to be adding moisture to the hair, teasing it beforehand will help you stay away from getting a flat or slimy look,” says the hair expert. Once the extensions are in place, you are ready to style!
Styling Products Are Your BFF’s
The first step to styling is mixing Kenra Medium Hold Volume Mousse and Perfect Locks Hydrating Sulfate-free Conditioner. Pump a handful of the mousse as seen in the image below and about 4 full sized pumps of the conditioner and mix these two together with your hands.

Apply this combination to your hair by running your fingers in a downward motion. Get a spaced out comb and brush your hair out to allow the product to absorb and distribute evenly. Slightly scrunch the hair with your hands. You should still see some of the product in your hair and that’s totally fine for now!

Next, spray Perfect Locks Leave-In Conditioner while simultaneously scrunching your hair. Be generous with this product. You’re going to apply this to every part of the hair, including the roots.
Sleekness is the Secret Sauce
The finishing touch is to add Perfect Locks French Argan Oil near the ends of your hair and to any areas that you want to create specific waves to. Sanchez calls this oil ‘hair-molding-magic’! If your hair is really thick, scrunch in Kenra light hold styling creme to finish off your look.

Success! The wet look is perfect for a late night outing or you can tone down the product usage for a more subtle wet look that can be used for an everyday go-to. For extra volume, you can shift your parting to the side for a swooshing effect. The combination of these products will keep your hair wet and glossy without the greasy look and molded at each curl without the crunchy texture.
