You asked and we listened…We are now offering colored hand-tied rows! Our hand-tied rows are ethically sourced and single drawn Remy human hair. All of our colored hair goes through a PigmentPlus+ Ammonia free process, which is non-damaging while maintaining the integrity of the hair. Our hand-tied rows are available in 3 textures and 6 colors! We're very excited about this launch for you guys… and we hope you are too!
What Are Hand Tied Rows & Why Should I Use Them?
We've been offering virgin hand-tied wefts for a very long time, hand-tied rows are basically half-packs of those, but available in multiple colors! Hand-tied rows are bound by hand and are much thinner than a machine weft. The weft lays flat, which gives you a more natural look. Since the wefts are so thin, you can install them closer to the crown. Hand-tied rows are perfect for people who are thinning or have fine hair. They're perfect to add volume, length, or thickness! They're also perfect for women who want to avoid using glue or heat on their hair. Hand-tied rows are comfortable to wear and are comfortable to the touch! If you're worried about styling, it is only limited to how the wefts are installed. Otherwise… Go crazy!
How Are Hand-Tied Rows Installed?
Installing hand-tied rows can be a little complicated, however, if you have the right stylist, you won’t regret getting them! A lot of stylists have the misconception that you can’t cut the weft, but we say, “You can”. We talked to our celebrity stylist, Alba Randolph, to have her input and she shared that “if you cut the weft, it needs to be sealed or else it will shed. Since it’s a hand-tied weft, you would need to put a sealant and give it 24 hours to dry prior to installation.” By cutting the weft, you can have the option to layer as much as you’d like!
There are a couple of ways to install hand-tied rows; the Natural Beaded Row Method (aka NBR Method) or a weaving/sewing method. For the NBR Method, you use microbeads for the installation. Your stylist will attach beads with some thread to your head creating rows on your natural hair, then they will place the wefts accordingly, and attach the hair with pliers onto the rows. You can also choose the weaving/sewing method! This method consists of creating braided rows of your natural hair across your head. Then your stylist will take a C-curved needle and thread and weave the weft with your hair, creating a bond. Both of these methods are perfect for a beautiful, natural look!
How Long Do They Last & When Do I Need To Re-adjust?
Since everybody’s hair grows differently, it can depend on when you would need an adjustment. We do recommend to have an adjustment every 6 weeks or so. The longevity of the hair also depends on the caretaker. Our wefts last for 12+ months given the proper care and maintenance. For regular washing use Sulfate-free or Paraben-free products so the hair will stay tangle-free, to prevent future issues. Make sure to gently detangle and brush the hair, we recommend using a loop brush, since the hair won’t snag.
Can I Do Daily Activities With The Hair In?
Yes! You can still do your day to day activities with our hair! You can exercise, swim, etc. To prevent tangling or knotting at night or while working out, make sure to tie up your hair in a bun, ponytail, or braid. Before swimming, we recommend having your hair up, so the chlorine won’t discolor the hair. If you do want to go underwater, wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo afterward. This will help to take out the chlorine and other impurities. After working out, make sure to rinse the hair to remove any build-up that may have occurred.
Can I Use Heating Tools Or Products In The Hair?
Yes, you can use heating tools and products on the hair! We do recommend for you to use a setting under 450 F, anything higher will damage the hair. Our hair's cuticle-intact which means it will go back to its natural texture once washed. We recommend using sulfate-free and paraben-free products, so the hair stays nice and healthy. Argan oils and deep conditioners are going to be your best friends, so the hair can retain all the moisture you’re giving it!
