Pixie Braids
Pixie Braids are a myriad of tiny braids covering the majority or the entire head of your hair. These fun braids can vary from 6 to 24 inches in length and some stylists singe the ends of the braids to stop them from unraveling. Bulk braiding works great for pixie braids because, in order to have a lot of pixie braids covering your head, bulk braiding allows you the extra hair and volume. Cornrows
Cornrows are some of the most well-known, conventional braids for African beauties. PopSugar has an excellent article on how to get long cornrows by using extensions and hair for bulk braiding. They take hours to create but are ideal if you want to keep your hair out of your face and tangle-free during the hot summer days ahead!
Crochet Braids
Aren't crochet braids just incredible?! Well, we tend to think so anyway. They're stylish and are a tad more creative than your average braid! Did you know that crochet braids are actually hair extensions that are installed by using a latch tool to crochet them onto cornrows? Pretty cool, huh? Check out an excellent YouTube crochet tutorial.
Yarn Braids
Another braid you must try is a yarn braid. As you can see in the picture above, corn braids look pretty amazing in a big bun and with wavy bulk hair you can create a voluminous hairstyle that'll last all through summer and beyond if you take care of your tresses. Just remember -- even though your hair is "safe" in a braid doesn't mean you still shouldn't protect it! Wear a hat, scarf, and other accessories that'll help protect your beautiful locks.
Enjoy having a blast this summer and don't be afraid to experiment with different braids. Believe us, they're so much fun! Plus -- the more braids you try, the more experienced you'll become.
